Still Life Grid
For my second shoot I decided that I wanted to experiment with my content in the images. Therefore I decided to create a still life piece featuring items that belong to me or have a significance in my life. I categorized the different pieces into colours of the rainbow to show another part of myself.
Improvements
I have taken the composition mistakes from last photoshoot and have applied them so to this shoot so that there would be nothing out of place in the unedited images. This will make editing the images easier as I wouldn't have to edit out any imperfections that do not belong.
Editing
This first image was composed the same way as all of the other images. The images feature a plain silver background with colour-coordinating items that all relate to the pride flag. This image, for example, represents the colour red in the pride flag and also features things that are relevant to me finding my self-identity, things that are important to be or things that I just simply like.
All of the 6 still life pieces were edited the same way but the levels at which they were edited were altered.
I started editing by adjusting the brightness of the images to slightly enhance the colours. To further enhance the colours I increased the saturation of the entire images to intensity and increase vibrancy within the colours of the objects.
To make the images more clear and sharp and simply increased the sharpness of the images to make the objects stand out even further.
To experiment further with editing I decided to create a grid of all 6 coloured still life pieces. This created a mosaic image that represents a pride flag in a couple of ways. The shape of the grid represents a flag itself as it's rectangular and also the colours of the flag itself. I chose to display the colours in order (left to right, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Pink Blue) of the pride flag.
Progression
I have progressed in my skills of editing and composition, when comparing this shoot to the first shoot, in many ways. For example, these images are all well visually composed and have been edited in a very different way to the previous shoot.
When comparing the two final edits of both shoots you can see a clear difference in composition and this expresses my experimentation within computer experiments.
