Image Bank

Image Bank
These five images above, I believe, show glamour and stereotypical beauty perfectly. All of the images are very colorful and hold a lot of connotations within them - even though they are just images of people expressing themselves.

These next three images are all showing males with very masculine features, dressed in women's clothing and wearing makeup. These images look very artistic because of the colour held within them. Also, the makeup that they are wearing is not deemed as 'natural' in media. These 'un-natural' makeup looks are very artistic and creative - the makeup changes the person wearing it into a different character or just simply makes them a better version of themselves.

These next four images are all from a fashion show bye "Marco Marco." These models are all drag queens and are all aware of who they are. The models are all wearing colorful, high-fashion outfits and I hope to bring these elements into my photo shots.

These next four images are all showing males with half a face of makeup on. These images show the two personas in the people at the same time - one feminine side and one masculine side. The first two images seem to take the documentary route of photography and show a struggle with the way the image is composed. The other two show a fashion-esque style of photography.

These next four images are all showing masculine males with makeup that isn't linked to beauty. The makeup is used as an art style instead of a glamour style. Despite the masculinity, there are many bright colours and a lot of the colours show are stereotypical deemed as female colours. Therefore, there are hints of femininity in the images.

These next four images simply show males dressed in feminine clothing. The models do not have makeup on so the fact that they are biologically male is not hidden. There are many connotations to all of these images and are quite politically and morally powerful.

This next image stood out to me as soon as I saw it. The image shows a naked male standing center of frame with areas of the body covered with image of female body parts. There are arm coming into frame holding the model and the images - one hand is covering his mouth. This is a very powerful image about this character's self-identity and how they may feel like they are female but outsiders (Media, Public, etc. represented by the hands) are silencing him, holding him back.

These next images are representing people who may feel like they are trapped inside the wrong body. The mirrors are used in the image to show who the true version of themselves are.
These final two images show self-identity through the use of framing and computer experiments to reveal who the people in the images truly are.
